There are more than 35 excursions that you can do as a guest of @altoatacama and the one that requires you to wake up the earliest might be one of the best. While it's still dark, you begin your drive from San Pedro and weave your way on winding roads through the mountains to a higher and higher elevation until the softest morning light begins to make clouds of white steam glow against the rocky backdrop. It's in fact the result of geysers, the highest elevation geysers in the world. Tatio Geysers, or Geiser del Tatio is a pair of sites in which you can walk amongst the holes in the ground where boiling hot water bubbles to the surface, creating an entirely otherworldly-looking environment that's the perfect place to finish watching the sun rise over the Andes. If you're brave, because it's very cold at this time of year, you can even go for a swim in one of the hot springs in the middle of the first geyser field. When you're done exploring, the hotel has an incredible breakfast spread waiting for you with mugs of coffee and fresh strawberry juice. You might even see a wild fox! #OnlyInSouthAmerica
