When @fsscottsdale asked me to come try out their @fourseasons Extraordinary Experience: Cowboy for a Day, I jumped at the chance and said yes immediately because I love horses and I I've always had a soft spot for cowboy culture. Little did I know, being a real, working cowboy is a LOT of work. Also, men and women are both Cowboys. "Cowgirl" is an invented term that the women who ranch, work with horses and compete in rodeos don't actually apply to themselves. But that's just a little anecdote for you. The experience starts you off with a set of boots and a hat to call your very own, so right away you at least look the part!👖👢These are delivered by a man named Manny and he knew my hat size without even meeting me, he's just that good. The photo shows Lori with one of her favorite horses, she's the boss lady, owner of the business and was once a Rodeo Queen. She's been teaching people the cowboy way since the late 1980's. Elaine, who I spent most of the day with, is the Jigger Boss and she's just phenomenal at teaching you everything you could ever need to know about horses and cattle. She teaches you how to love horses properly, not just the why. A less romantic photo from my day with Elaine and Lori would show me cleaning, grooming and picking the hooves of my horse 'Moolah' but one of the coolest things about the experience is that before you arrive, you get to pick and choose the things you want to learn most. I also picked learning how to cook in a dutch oven, and that too was harder than I thought. Yet even with all the hard work, it was one of the most enjoyable days of my whole life and I now have an even deeper love of, and knowledge about, horses than ever before. 🐴🌵 #ScottsdaleInvasion
