## Caption

General (Ret.) Mark A. Welsh III has been part of the Aggie Family long before stepping into his role of the 27th president of Texas A&M University. Following in his father's footsteps, he embarked on a distinguished military career, which ultimately led him to the very the place his father once described as "a shining city on the hill.”

Find out what President Welsh stands for, and how he went from joining the Air Force because “he wanted to go fast” to learning what it means to be a leader and work in pursuit of the greater good. His story is one of leadership and integrity, and a strong belief in the importance of selfless service and standing for what’s right.
