Week 9 in college football featured plenty of intrigue but few actual upsets. As a result, there aren’t many changes near the upper echelon of the US LBM Coaches Poll, with the top six teams remaining the same. uslbm

Oregon continues to hold the No. 1 ranking. The Ducks claimed all but one of 54 first-place votes cast this week after a convincing win against Illinois.

Georgia, which had the week off, stays at No. 2 receiving the remaining first-place nod. Penn State and Ohio State, set to square off next week, hold down the next two spots.

No. 5 Miami (Fla.) and No. 6 Texas also maintain their positions after victories.

So, what team made the biggest rise in the poll? Well, that honor goes to the Washington State Cougars.

Washington State rallied from a 12-point fourth quarter deficit as John Mateer had a passing touchdown, a rushing touchdown and a two-point conversion pass in the final quarter for a 29-26 win over San Diego State.

Meanwhile, LSU had the biggest drop in this week's poll after a 38-23 loss to Texas A&M.
