Damon Galgut, who is shortlisted for the #2021BookerPrize with 'The Promise', is such a dedicated book-lover that has two favourite bookshops in his hometown – @clarkesbookshop and @booklounge of Cape Town, South Africa.

Damon says: "Firstly, Clarke’s Books in Long Street, which is brilliant for Africana or for random second-hand browsing, and then the fabulous Book Lounge, which always has an unusual and stimulating selection of new books, by no means a certainty in these parts."
