As this challenging year comes to a close, we wanted to take a look back at some of our International Booker and Booker Prize highlights…⠀

2020 was the year we went fully digital for our shortlist announcements and celebrations, with virtual watch parties, actor readings and author events, and of course our new-look winner ceremonies, which we hope you enjoyed tuning into.⠀

We were thrilled to announce our two winners: The Discomfort of Evening by @MariekeLucasRijneveld and translated by Michele Hutchison; and Shuggie Bain by @douglas_stuart. Head over to The Booker Prizes YouTube channel to catch up on all the activity. ⠀

We also started #TimeForTheBooker to spread the joy of reading fiction, where former winners, judges, members of our team and our lovely followers, got involved to share their favourite Booker Prize reads.

Our 2021 judges are already underway with reading submissions and we can’t wait to reveal their choices next year.⠀
