F1 tech that’s made it into road cars, part 4:

Active suspension made its race debut in the 1992 F1 season with the innovative Williams FW14B. The system used a computer to control the hydraulic suspension set up, allowing it to adapt itself to different corners and even lower itself on straightaways for higher top speeds.

Although it was banned after the following season, the same technology would eventually transform into the adaptive suspension setups seen on a lot of modern road cars to make them more comfortable on the road while also allowing them to be as stiff as possible when you wanna have a bit of fun.
