# @lewisfamilytv on Instagram - **Type:** Image - **Original URL:** https://www.instagram.com/p/CXbgpTorFlj - **Gondola URL:** https://gondola.cc/posts/2453750-lewisfamilytv-instagram - **Thumbnail:** https://img.gondola.cc/tr:w-,h-,fo-auto/postThumbnails/68476f8521.jpg - **Posted:** 2021-12-13T16:32:17.000+00:00 ## Caption When I met Tim, he was an all-star student athlete.   He dominated in swimming, diving, played football, water polo, and was captain of academic decathlon, but his all-time favorite was track and field.   But because our high school didn’t have a dedicated boy’s track and field coach, Tim often trained with the girl’s track and field coach.   In the spring of 2009, I would attend his meets and be so amazed by how fast he was.   We basically missed prom because he qualified for the state finals.   We didn’t arrive to prom until 11:30pm and it ended at midnight.   Most dates would probably be upset but I was head over heels for Tim.   Plus, I really wanted him to do what he loved, so I was happy to only make it to 30 mins of prom and get one dance with my boo before it ended.   He loved the 200m dash, even though he probably should have been running middle distance, he hated the 400m dash.   One day after his practice, he was teaching me how to sprint with better form and he started telling me about his favorite track athletes.   That’s when I first learned of Allyson Felix.   He raved about her story and how fast she was, and this was 12 years ago.   We were 17 at the time.   Over the years, every time the Olympics came on, he would tell me her story again and again.   And to think, she’s much more famous now.   She was recently at the White House with VP Kamala Harris launching a Maternal Health Day of Action.   Winning on and off the track.   A legend.
