Yo, when I get recognized on the street, I’m often called the “food guy.” It’s a flattering description, especially since it’s such a broad term in a content space filled with many “food guys” and “food girls.” 😂

I do, however, like to emphasize that righteouseats isn’t just a food channel—it’s a small business with a mission. We don’t charge restaurants to be featured. Instead, one way we’re supported is through partnerships with brands we actually believe in. And when we work with these brands, like mastercard, we make sure the impact reaches beyond us: the restaurants get paid, the community eats for free, and our partners get their deliverables.

We believe in putting our money where our mouth is, backing up our words with hard numbers. So here’s the transparency to date:

• $119,034.30 on meals; never taking a free meal from a restaurant
• $276,331.80 to build and sustain a team, office space, transportation, collaboration tools, editing software
• $138,521 on community events, donations to charities, and supporting local businesses–brick and mortar restaurants, street vendors, and pop-up chefs

That’s $533,887.10 invested in building Righteous Eats from the ground up.

Every dollar spent, shared, and reinvested is part of what makes this a true grassroots movement, one we’re proud of. Like any small business, it’s a marathon with its share of hurdles and setbacks. But when the community rallies behind every step? That’s the kind of return you can’t measure.

Could we have saved more for ourselves? Sure. Maybe I should’ve put some of that toward a down payment. People have asked, “Why pay for all those meals when most viewers don’t care who’s covering the tab?” But that’s the thing. This was never about margins; it’s about making things a little easier for the eateries, sharing stories that go unnoticed, and bridging the gap for those who’d otherwise miss out. Keeping this community strong is priceless. #MastercardAmbassador

So, to everyone who does care, who’s supported us along the way—thank you.

Aight, peace and blessings.
