Four decades after its launch #OTD in 1977, Voyager 2 is more than 11 billion miles from Earth, traveling through the space between the stars. At that distance, it takes over 16 hours for its data transmissions to reach Earth. It carries a 12-inch copper phonograph record containing greetings in 55 languages, 115 images, and a variety of natural sounds, in the event that the spacecraft is ever found by intelligent life-forms. 👽 .
