The concept of carbon footprint was born as one indicator of our impact on the Earth. However, the idea really took off in 2003 when the oil and gas company BP launched a campaign.⁣

It was a clever trick on their part as they pushed corporate guilt onto us personally while they carried on drilling for fossil fuels! ⁣
