PEP IN THEIR STEP: The Mac Knight Steppers performed at their first pep rally on Halloween. Sophomore Paityn Jones, captain of the step team, is proud of her team for their ability to overcome stage fright and work through the jitters of performing at the pep rally for the first time.

“They were really nervous, saying ‘I don’t know if I can do it,’” Jones said, “but then afterwards they felt the adrenaline rush of performing.I hope that they can get more used to it, go up there, and maybe even perform with no mistakes at all.”

Jones believes that the step team provides community and closeness for its members.

“The coach and our sponsor, Ms. Moore, as well as Coach Jack, provide us with unconditional love and support. It feels good to have a community.”

The performance drew a loud and enthusiastic response from the students in the stands.
