In 2009, Bonny Nyaga earned his MS in Transportation Management. This degree was transformative for Nyaga, changing his focus from routine tasks to strategic leadership. Since graduating from SJSU, he’s advanced to a leadership role at Caltrans, now serving as a division chief.

"My graduate studies were transformative, providing practical knowledge that has significantly shaped my career. Engaging with instructors and peers who specialize in transportation matters further fueled my passion for leadership, communication, and innovation," said Nyaga. 

"My engineering career trajectory would have been vastly different had I not pursued my Master’s degree at SJSU. The program shifted my perspective from micro-level thinking to strategic leadership. I found my niche in providing direction and guidance. Graduating from such a prestigious institution is a source of deep gratitude. I remain committed to serving others and ensuring a safe, reliable transportation network that benefits all California communities while respecting the environment."
