Hosting a get-together for the holidays? Here are some tips to ensure your deaf and hard-of-hearing guests have more access and things are inclusive in your home: 

Lights On: Good balanced lighting (not too dim, not too bright) is key for visual communication. 💡 

Food Labels: Take the guesswork and pressure off listening to unfamiliar dishes or ingredients. Another plus is you won't have to repeat yourself over and over! 🍽️ 

Soft Tunes: Turn the music down or even off so the signal/speech to noise ratio isn't as challenging. Multiple people conversing is hard enough! 🎶 

TV Captions: Add closed captions so everyone can benefit. 📺 

Name Tags: Providing visuals helps everyone get acquainted without the fuss, especially for hard to pronounce names 🏷️ Al 

Tables: Round tables are best so that everyone can see each other! 

Fresco: Eat outside where there is less reverberation and noise 🌞 

Clear Signs: Why not label the bathroom so everyone knows where to go? 🚻
