In December 2003 I was looking for a church that had a service on Christmas Day and found Hope. I had moved to Des Moines that same year but hadn't found a church home yet. After the Christmas service, I knew I had to come back every Sunday. Hope provided me an opportunity to meet a prayer group of friends and Bible study groups who prayed for me and encouraged my faith journey.

Sukeerthi and I were married in India, but due to the immigration process we were apart for almost two years. During that phase, I decided to move back to India because her immigration process was taking longer than we hoped. But God's plans are different than ours, and he never lets his children down. This challenge allowed us to grow in faith and root our relationship in Christ. We were encouraged by the word of God and blessed to have wonderful friends at Hope who would pray for us and witnessed God's goodness and miracles in our lives.

Coming from a different country and culture, we felt very welcomed and encouraged by the love of the church and missionary work. Through sermons, we have learned to take God seriously and placed Jesus at the center of our lives. Hope has been an integral part of strengthening our marriage and raising our four children, Tiara, Liana, Olivia and Ethan, and involving them in activities at Hope where they are molded by godly knowledge and wisdom.

We have seen God’s presence at Hope, a church after God's own heart, reaching out to other parts of the world — building churches and wells in Africa and distributing Bibles in native languages in India, where only 2.3% of the population is Christian. Hope has been so generous in providing facility for hosting Indian Christmas evangelism to share God's love with Indian friends who come from different cultural and faith backgrounds.

We experience God's love, presence of the Holy Spirit and so much joy in the house of the Lord. Hope truly became a second home to us.

God has a bigger purpose for all of us. We are so excited to see as God unfolds his mighty will and purpose through Hope to the next generations. Greater things are yet to come.
