sidewayzshawn of specterwraps & gonzalezgarage really knocked it out of the park with this final rendition and execution for gosunoco partnership with stakef1team for this weekends f1 race. They came to us with a vision of a very street oriented, las vegas vibe and wanted to reinvigorate the spark with larry_chen_foto we had back in 2020 when we went to Chicago and New Orleans. I knew I wanted to show out for this one and really do things of how I envision a drift car to be at its core. I really stepped away from this one and let Shawn just do his thing. I typically am quite involved with inputs of what I’m looking or shooting for, but when I saw Shawn just vibe with it and put pieces to paper I really loved what I was seeing, the dude had a vision and just killed it. Each of the little details with the dice, the dollar signs, the jackpot machines, even the subtle last name script on the fender is dope. It just has so much detail to it. Being for Vegas and my car style in years previous with the 14 I just had a gut feeling to call Jose and see if he was available so we could finally give the S15 the same treatment. It was a really close deadline that we had available and this entire process is a very detailed type of thing. What Jose would typically require to do in 4 weeks he got done in 12 days. The color we used was very similar to S14 back in 2018 but we used a different hue of base green to better match with Stakes specific color. Lime/neon green believe it or not is not just a simple color to match up to! I knew having the Vegas lights shining down on metal flake would just go off and working with the team painthuffermetalflake in the past I knew that was the move. We even had to order in a special clear that could be buffed 3hrs after it’s laid.  Shawn had to print, cut, weave and install each decal by hand and again which would take a week got done in 3 days. It was a blast getting to work with such great people in my corner on this and I don’t think it could’ve came out much better.
