Day 4 of Seven Spectacular Sides for the Holidays are these Candied Korean Sweet Potatoes. I wanted to include at least one recipe in this lineup that’s going to make your Aunt Patricia go, “Oh…. someone brought ETHNIC FOOD.”

And this is the one!!!

Once, I suggested to my subscribers that they try a Korean sweet potato once in awhile, particularly if they happened to be in a Korean grocery store, and someone got DEEPLY offended that I was being so unpatriotic to the American sweet potato.

These are the things that stick with you in life.

Mostly, I just prefer these over the typical candied yam or sweet potato casseroles that are a dime a dozen this time of year. This is a recipe I adapted from the incomparable maangchi.
