Ricardo Pepi started PSV’s game today against his former club Groningen and scored a hat-trick, while the injured Luuk De Jong watched from the VIP seat 👀

After the game, Pepi said normally players start the next game after a hat-trick but he won’t talk about it. The quotes were reported by Voetbal International and translated by Daniel Smith.

It seems to be a response to PSV manager Peter Bosz’s comments yesterday, where he said he has two top strikers but De Jong is his number one.

Bosz’s comments were a response to Pepi’s interview last week, where he said he hates being called a super-sub and is ready to be a starter.

The 21-year-old now has 12 goals for club and country this season, despite not starting for PSV on a regular basis. 

After his interview last week, rumors started to spread about him possibly leaving PSV as soon as this winter, with Fabrizio Romano reporting about clubs across Europe being interested.

Pepi was given Man of the Match award today and he gave the award to a PSV fan in the stadium instead— making the fan very happy. What a gesture 🙌🏾
