To our Canisius High School community and beyond: We wish you all a most Happy Thanksgiving.

Let us be filled with, in the words of St. Ignatius, "gratitude for the good things and gifts received."

Our best wishes as well to the thousands of ymcabuffaloniagara Turkey Trot runners who will pass by our 1180 Delaware Ave. campus tomorrow morning. 

Turkey Trot runners from any part of the CHS community: Snap a selfie or group photo in front of 1180 and share it with us via chstoday@canisiushigh.org, or DM us here, or tag us in your posts. 

The following Thanksgiving prayer was read by Director of Campus Ministry Fr. Chuck Frederico, S.J. to our school community during Tuesday’s morning announcements: 

“And as we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, we give thanks, Almighty God for the food, the fellowship, and fun that we will share around the table with family and friends. 

“May we always remember that every day is a day of thanksgiving for those who place their hope and trust in You. 

“And may we move from this gift of thankfulness into the mission ‘of feeding the hungry, giving water to the thirsty, clothing the naked, sheltering the homeless, visiting the sick, visiting the imprisoned, or ransoming the captive, and burying the dead,’ these Your Corporal Works of Mercy. 

“Through, Christ our Lord, who is, who was and who is to come — Amen.”
