I only have one message to share this Friday because this Friday is special.

Since October 15th I have been in absolute hell. I live with a chronic pain disorder called interstitial cystitis. When in remission, that doesn’t mean it’s gone, it just means it hurts a bit less. When it’s bad, it takes away my will to live. The pain is worse than childbirth, worse than appendicitis, worse than anything I’ve ever endured yet it’s something I’m just supposed to carry on with for weeks (and at one time, years). I look fine so most people expect me to be fine. 

This photo was taken on the first day since coming out of remission that I felt free from the hellacious pain. During this flare I have missed out on jobs, had to cancel my commitment to the marathon I was working my ass off to run, spent THOUSANDS of dollars and time on appointments and medications and put my boyfriend through countless tearful nights. I almost cancelled our trip to Switzerland but I diligently went to appointments where I have to FIGHT for the medications I know work for me and gone through PT and dry needling of my pelvis 🫣. I am so grateful for mindtobodyhealing believing how bad this pain is and getting me in to begin my journey to relief.

Every day we prayed for solutions, a miracle, strength and it didn’t get better, in fact, some days it got worse. But on this day pictured- it was the tomorrow we were waiting for. 

This pain doesn’t define me but it does shape the way I operate in this life and the way I find contentment and gratitude in things I would take for granted otherwise. To feel good is a GIFT.
