A huge congratulations to Dr. Monica Williams and Dana Roberts, the Co-Founders of RedDrop, on winning the $1M Grand Prize in this year’s Black Ambition Prize Competition! 🎉

It all started when Dana, a longtime educator, noticed her 5th-grade students were unprepared and scared when they started their periods. She created “first purses” filled with essentials to help them feel confident and ready. Partnering with her close friend Dr. Monica Williams, a new mom at the time, the two turned a simple idea into RedDrop—a brand committed to breaking the stigma and normalizing conversations around periods.

RedDrop is revolutionizing the way tweens experience their first period by offering stylish period kits designed to empower, educate, and support young girls and their families. From breaking down stigma to providing essential resources, RedDrop is on a mission to normalize and celebrate this important transition. 

As Dr. Monica Williams shared, "We’re beyond thrilled to be the grand prize winners of this year’s Black Ambition Prize Competition! Having $1 million to invest in our business is life-changing and will give us opportunities to grow and continue to impact our community. And while the prize money is great, the mentorship and network provided by Black Ambition is priceless and will allow us to open doors that were previously closed and to start building our own table so we can invite others to have a seat."
