Comment “HEALTHY” below if you want a link to the full video with more details on healthy fats and oils to keep in your home!

In part 1 of this series, we talked about why it’s so important to choose the right fats and oils in your kitchen. Now, let’s dive into healthy oils that you should absolutely be using at home! 🍳

When it comes to cooking oils, you want to consider two things: the temperature of what you’re cooking and the smoke point of the oil. Some oils are better for high-heat cooking, while others are best kept for low-heat or cold uses.

1. Avocado Oil 🥑
This is my go-to oil for a reason—it’s super versatile, packed with healthy monounsaturated fats, and has a high smoke point! It has a mild flavor that doesn’t overpower your dishes. Unlike vegetable or canola oil, avocado oil offers healthy fats that won’t cause inflammation in the body.

2. Coconut Oil 🥥
Another oil I reach for often, especially for high-heat cooking, is coconut oil. The smoke point is high enough to withstand the heat, so you’re not breaking down the oil into harmful compounds. Plus, while it may be known for its coconut flavor, refined coconut oil is very neutral, so you can use it in both sweet and savory dishes!

3. Olive Oil (for low-heat cooking & salads) 🍈
I couldn’t leave this one out! Olive oil is perfect for drizzling on salads, making dressings, or cooking over low to medium heat. It’s full of heart-healthy monounsaturated fats and anti-inflammatory properties. Just make sure to use it in moderation to get the most benefit without overdoing the calories.

4. Ghee (Clarified Butter) 🧈
If you’re into cooking with butter but want something with a higher smoke point, ghee is your answer. It’s clarified butter that has all the milk solids removed, making it ideal for high-heat cooking. Ghee is rich in healthy fats, vitamins A and E, and has a delicious nutty flavor that elevates any dish.

It’s about quality over quantity—using oils that nourish your body, help you reduce inflammation, and support a healthy, balanced diet.
