Raptors Visit Feather Friendly!

We were overjoyed to welcome the incredible Flaco and Steve from kawarthabirdcontrol , along with their human companions Zack and Sully, for a memorable day of fun and education at the Feather Friendly office.

Flaco, a Eurasian Eagle Owl, is as majestic as the famous Flaco of Central Park, who delighted New Yorkers before succumbing to a window collision -- a fate that claims the lives of over a billion birds annually in the US. “Our” Flaco carries his legacy forward.

Steve, an American Kestrel, is much smaller than Flaco but makes up for it with his larger-than-life personality. Known for his incredible flight skills, Steve plays a vital role in conservation by keeping starlings at bay.

Zack and Sully from Kawartha Bird Control talked to us about these magnificent birds. They gave us insight into how they deploy these magnificent raptors to aid conservation efforts and education about avian conservation issues in Ontario.

They are also authorized dealers/applicators of Feather Friendly solutions. We’ve enjoyed collaborating with them on numerous projects across Ontario, Canada.
