2024 DEKA World Championship Recap (2 of 3) 
Day 2: Saturday, December 14th, 2024 

3. DEKA MILE Elite - 20:48 - 11th Overall 

I worked throughout the year to earn an elite qualification for the DEKA MILE. Hitting three PR's to make it happen. I also knew that making the decision to accept the elite qualification would come with an extremely challenging race physically & mentally. I wanted that opportunity. 

I came in as the 11th seed and finished in 11th. We broke even. I threw myself into the ring & got consumed by the sharks. Many takeaways from this one. I am dissatisfied with my execution; this race will sit with me for a while. I am glad I took this opportunity to learn and grow. I am walking away with my head up.

4. DEKA MILE Elite Male Teams - 15:17 - 3rd Overall 🥉

Got my lick back in the MILE with the help of the firecracker that is Bryan Neely. The race started hot and stayed hot. We were in the fight all 10 rounds. 

Prior to Worlds we raced together once just to squeak in a qual time during the final weeks of eligibility. I can say with ease that this was one of the best choices we made this season with the end result being a World Championship podium! 

On paper Bryan and I are like athletes. Quick, agile, and possess similar strengths in DEKA. Somehow, someway, we work phenomenally as a team. It's a blue collar effort. We split almost everything and just grind. 

Bry, thank you. Thank you for one of the most electric teams races I have been apart of. Your relentlessness and willingness to suffer with/for me led us to bronze. I love racing with you dude!

One more day.
