2024 DEKA World Championship Recap (1 of 3) 
Day 1: Friday, December 13th, 2024 

1. DEKA FIT - 32:51 (38s PR) - 2nd 18-24 / 7th Overall 🥈

First time cracking the 33 minute mark; something I've been chasing the last two years. Ran a massive PR to do so. I had joe_rucco in the back of my mind reminding me to stay patient and steer the ship. I feel like I did that well and overall ran a great race. I'm proud of this effort. 

Played a bit of musical chairs all thirty-something minutes battling with jr.hybridfitness & e_d49 from the jump. This race was a blood bath and I thank Jude & Ethan for the push. Pleasure to share the podium with you gents. 

2. DEKA FIT Elite Co-Ed Teams - 27:33 - 3rd Overall 🥉

Can safely say no one expected this one. Quite an underdog story... I texted B on Wednesday and said "[we have] nothing to lose, just a lot of people to upset." We're gamers and we were ready to lay it on the line.

The race for 1-2 was locked up. The top two teams were out of reach. I was confident in us & our ability to make a push for that last podium spot. We found ourselves in a literal barn burner of a race. Light the match. We ran like hell (17:08 5k split), made our big move at the tank (1:42, -21s gap), and held on earn that final podium spot. 

Brooklyn Nichols. You bad mf! Thank you for teaming up with me. To put out that kind of effort after winning and nearly breaking the DEKA FIT Ruck World Record hours before (yeah, she did that) is unreal. I could not have done it without you. 

On to day two.
