Did you know that 1 in 2 teens will skip sports or drop out all together because of their period? When I hear that statistic, I think of my daughter. If she chooses to play sports, I want her to feel empowered to speak openly about her experiences and not feel any shame. Throughout my soccer career I’ve had my period countless times, but I didn’t speak about it openly. Now, I’m wearing a red sticker in support of knix’s #SportYourPeriod initiative to normalize the topic of periods in sports. The more we talk about periods in sports, the more teens stay in sports.
