Day 3: Sunday, December 15th, 2024

5. DEKA STRONG - 12:32 - 18-24 World Champion / 6th Overall 🏆

This was my last individual opportunity of the weekend to win a race. I stuck to my guns tape to tape. I know my STRONG has gotten significantly better since last year and I can hit the necessary splits consistently. I did what I needed to knowing I had two more efforts on the day. Notch another one in the belt. 

6. DEKA STRONG Elite Co-Ed Teams - 10:02 - 7th Overall

This race was one you had to see to believe. More went wrong than right. My foot got stuck in the rower, three lanes of boxes for step overs all collided, we broke the left ski handle 250m in, and that was not even all of it... We would have needed a picture perfect run and an uncharacteristicly fast bike to even be in the mix for top 5.

Kayla, I am sorry. I'm sorry I let you down. My blunders and errors cost us valuable time in a game of seconds. Even so, you looked at me with a big smile and told me you were proud after we crossed the finish line. Your energy is infectious, your vibe is contagious. I'm grateful for you & your friendship. I know this will not be our last pairing. I'll be better next time.

7. DEKA STRONG Elite Male Teams - 8:58 - Back-to-back World Champions 🏆

It is extremely difficult to defended a title. We had a target on our backs & many people hungry to take a shot at us. Lots of chatter. Similarly to last year, we had to fight every step of the way. The heat jefferydavid116 & strengthcoachcurl brought made this race painfully fun. 

I had my job, Kevin had his. It makes the dynamic simple: do your job and have unwavering confidence that your partner will do theirs. Lucky for me, I have the best in the game by my side. I'll take us in a burpee-off any day of the week. 

Kev, there's not much I can say that I have not already. Thank you for taking another chance on me and allowing us the opportunity to defend what is rightfully ours. I love winning alongside you.
