The Rundown 

Cincinnati vs USF

“The rundown” returns for this week’s matchup between Cincinnati and USF! 

On paper, this USF team may be the worst team in the AAC, but let’s not take them lightly after they almost beat us last year in Tampa.

Keys to the game:
Being at home, I definitely could see this being a major blowout. Even if none of these keys happen, we’d still probably win. Think of these as “keys to the game” but also “my personal takes”, or what I think will happen tomorrow. 

- After having a performance that was worse than expected last week, I think Desmond Ridder needs to have a big game, and I believe he will show out and look great. I definitely see him being a lot more accurate on his deep balls, and using his legs more often.

- That leads us into the second key/take (third pictured), which is the WRs making more plays downfield. I think a more accurate Ridder this week will help give huge performances from guys like Michael Young, Jayshon Jackson, etc. 

- This RB room is easily one of the best in the conference. Yes, we didn’t see as much success last week, but Army also has one of the best rush defenses in the nation. I see big game from each of the highly talented backs that we have.

- There are a lot more questions on the offensive side of the ball than the defense. Last week, the defense looked ELITE. Holding Army to really 3 points (first 7 was out of their control) was amazing. Everybody looked athletic, tackles were made, we were able to get some pressure, and the DBs made plays. I see a similar game this week (maybe even MORE takeaways)!

Key matchups:
Arguably the best defensive player on USF’s roster is KJ Sails. With Alec Pierce out, I matched him out with Jayshon Jackson. Jackson has been one of the most impressive WRs so far, leading the unit in yards. He’s shown his speed, his catching ability, etc. I see big performances from both Sails and Jackson tomorrow.

The leading rusher for the Bulls is Johnny Ford. Ford has made a big impact this year, already rushing for 141 yards in 15 carries. I matched him up with our entire rush defense, which is also very strong.
