According to the 2021 State of the Period survey, 23% of U.S. students have struggled to afford period products and 51% say they have worn products longer than recommended. Kayla Cook of lancastergeneralhealth used two Penn Medicine CAREs grants to help put products in all women’s and gender-neutral bathrooms at middle and high schools in her community.
