How to get to NYC from NJ by bus at Port Authority 🚏 It’s very common to take the bus from NJ to NYC, as you will save hundreds of dollars by staying at a cheaper accommodations in Jersey.

Step-by-step route from NJ to Port Authority (NYC):
🚍 Download the NJ Transit app. This will all you to buy tickets on the app, show you bus schedules, real time updates, and more.
🚍 Show your bus driver your ticket, or you can pay the exact cash amount up front.
🚍 Use Google Maps as a backup. I like to have this on to show me how many stops we’ll take until arriving at Port Authority.
🚍 You’ll know once you reach Port Authority (42nd & 8th) since everyone will be getting off.
🚍 Since every single subway line is connected to Port Authority, it is very easy to get to where you need to be. It’s also right by Times Square.

The reverse (some things are a bit different) ♾️:
🚍 If you’re going back to NJ from NYC, you’ll either need a physical or virtual ticket. You can purchase this on the app or at the orange kiosk. The bus driver will (most likely) not let you on if you’re paying cash.
🚍 Find your gate. You can do this by either asking the information desk up front, at a kiosk (located throughout Port Authority), or on the online PDF schedules.
