🎄 Do we have a holiday story for you! 🎁 Get this, conservationists are working to save Pencil Cedars by turning younger trees into Christmas trees--and then replanting them!

As a result, this Critically Endangered species, which has only 80 mature trees left on Saint Lucia, is starting to make a comeback. Conservationists like Melvin Smith are encouraging Saint Lucians to propagate younger trees instead of non-native Christmas trees. After the holidays, these precious potted trees get a second life and can be planted in gardens to help secure the future of this species.

Re:wild and faunafloraint have partnered with the Saint Lucia Forestry Department to help support these efforts to protect this island's biodiversity.
