Meet Cecilia Derlon Bahachille, a new #UNC24 grad from Miami, Florida. 🎓 🐏

Cecilia was part of honorscarolina and majored in Political Science with a minor in Media and Journalism. She also worked as a UNC Admissions ambassador!

What are you looking forward to after graduation?
“I am looking forward to starting my career and being able to work in the field that Carolina prepared me for. I am also looking forward to coming back as an alumna for football and basketball games.”

What are you going to miss about being a UNC student?
“Trying to find a spot at Davis during finals, saying hi to Rita the crossing guard, talking with the employees at Lenoir, running into my professors on campus, rushing Franklin after beating Duke for the millionth time, football games, my friends, and so many other things.”

What advice do you have for future Tar Heels?
“Keep an open mind and say yes to opportunities. It can be easy as an incoming student to feel overwhelmed, or even lost, in a place that provides so many opportunities. But I have gotten some of my most amazing experiences at UNC by just saying yes to something I might've not done in the past. Take advantage of the resources available, talk to your professors, and whenever your friends ask to hang out, say yes. You will miss it more than you think!”

How are you feeling right now?
“I am feeling bittersweet — I am so proud of myself and my peers for graduating and accomplishing as much as we have, but I am also going to miss this place so much. I am also feeling very grateful for this university, its faculty, my friends, and the education I have received. I wouldn't have wanted my college experience any other way, and am thankful for having had the opportunity to come here.”
