Comment “CALORIE” in the comments below for a link to the full video breakdown on how to balance your calories, hit your weight loss goals, and enjoy the process!

If weight loss is your goal, then you’ve probably heard the term caloric deficit thrown around a lot. But what is it, exactly?

A caloric deficit is simply when you eat fewer calories than your body needs to maintain your current weight. In other words, you burn more calories than you consume, which forces your body to use stored fat for energy. This is the foundation of weight loss!

But here’s the thing: You don’t need to be in a deficit every single day to lose weight. That’s where calorie cycling comes in.

Here is how it works! Lets say your daily caloric goal for weight loss is 1800 calories. You can aim for 1800 calories everyday OR you could aim for 1600 calories Monday - Thursday which would leave an extra 800 calories in your bank for the weekend. This would allow you to consume 2000-2100 on Friday - Sunday and still be at your weekly average of 1800 calories.

Why Should You Care About Calorie Cycling?

Flexibility Without Guilt and It Helps You Stay Consistent: The key to long-term weight loss isn’t about depriving yourself. It’s about creating habits you can maintain, and calorie cycling allows you to do just that. You’ll be able to balance your calories throughout the week, making it easier to stick with your goals and enjoy your life!

There is one Non-Negotiable: Here’s the key: You can bank calories, but you can’t bank protein. Your protein intake needs to be consistent every day to preserve muscle, boost metabolism, and keep you satisfied. Make sure you’re always hitting your minimum protein goals, even on lower-calorie days!

If you’ve been struggling with staying on track during weekends, holidays, or nights out, calorie cycling might be just the strategy you need to balance it all while still hitting your weight loss goals!
