Every year during this week between Christmas and the New Year, I set aside some time to reflect on the previous year and to set intentions (not goals)for the year ahead. Today, I am working on setting personal, professional, health, and spiritual intentions for myself. I also like to set a word for each year. It serves as a helpful reminder or value to work on throughout the course of the year. The word for 2025 is JOY. I am a goal-driven person with a lot of irons in the fire. I have found that I don’t take the time to truly celebrate victories and joyful moments because I’m too busy rushing to the next thing. As a working mom with multiple businesses, I’m constantly being pulled in a million different directions, leaving me racked with guilt and exhaustion. Last year, I worked on being more present, both physically and mentally. I also did a lot of work to help me set priorities in my life and to use better discernment on what is truly a big deal. I want this to be the year that I really take the time to to feel and experience the beautiful moments in life. Being a mother has taught me that even the simplest things can bring joy and that every moment is fleeting. There are lots of exciting things ahead for us in 2025 and I plan to savor those moments and feel joy deeply. On the flip side, I’m committing to saying NO to things that don’t spark joy on some level or that no longer work for me. What intentions have you set for the New Year?
