My best memory of 2024 was a smoky day in late summer, sitting in the mountains of Idaho, legs dipped in the cold river water, eating a gigantic sandwich. We didn’t see a single other person that entire day at that secret spot. There was no cell service. Just a peaceful respite from the utter storm that was 2024. Peaceful is definitely the goal for 2025. I feel like that’s the goal for a lot of people I know.

And the secret is to order the filling in a tub and the bread on the side, and put it together when you arrive at your destination. Grab a couple sides of mayonnaise and mustard.
