Looking back on 2024, it is without a doubt that Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia was the biggest circus of the year in combat sports. 

The promotional build up alone is documentary worthy, featuring: personal trash talk about each other’s families; Ryan Garcia acting crazy in a variety of interviews/press conferences; as well as him drinking a “beer” during their final weigh-ins. 

The fight itself was as wild as the build-up, with Garcia stunning the boxing world by dropping Haney 3 times en route to a majority decision victory and giving Haney the first loss of his career. 

For a brief minute, Ryan Garcia was on top of the world. A month later, however, news broke that he tested positive for the banned performance enhancing substance known as Ostarine. The findings resulted in a one year suspension and the fight being overturned to a no-contest,  officially reinstating Haney as an undefeated fighter. 

There no fight in 2024 that rivaled the insanity of this one.
