🎉 Congratulations to the City of Venice’s 2024 Employee of the Year – Cordy Crane! 🎉

The Employee of the Year program is a staff-driven initiative where City employees vote for their peers who go above and beyond their regular duties. Nominations are then reviewed by a team of previous Employee of the Year recipients, who make the final selection independently, with no input from City leadership. This year, Cordy, who serves as the Executive Assistant in the City Manager’s Office, stood out among her colleagues for her incredible efforts in fostering a culture of appreciation, recognition, and support within our organization.

Cordy is known for her big heart, patience, and understanding. She goes out of her way to help others succeed, even when it falls outside of her department or regular duties. Her willingness to step in and be a key team player makes her a trusted and valued colleague across the City.

Over the past year, Cordy has made a meaningful impact by:

✅ Developing the City’s first-ever Employee Veteran Recognition Program, honoring over 40 veteran employees.
✅ Organizing staff recognition events to celebrate milestones, welcome new team members, and ensure everyone feels seen and valued.
✅ Spearheading the creation of the First Responder Memorial, a lasting tribute to our heroes.
✅ Leading numerous community engagement events with local schools and partner organizations.
✅ Coordinating a staff retreat featuring learning modules, team-building exercises, and guest speakers to help build synergy and enhance team capabilities.

Cordy’s unwavering dedication to making others feel recognized, heard, and supported has left a lasting impression on all of us. 💙
