The 9NEWS Weather Impact Team has issued a Weather Impact Day for just Thursday morning because of the likelihood for impacts to the morning commute because of the snow.

While totals will be light in basically all cases — Denver may only get an inch or so of total snow Thursday — it will be cold enough that any snow that falls will stick to roads quickly Thursday morning. Highs will only be in the upper 20s in town.

Areas south and east of downtown Denver like Castle Rock, Kiowa, Elizabeth, and Parker could see 2-4 inches of accumulation, and there's a Winter Weather Advisory in those areas as a result.

Otherwise, the steadiest snow will fall between 6 a.m. and noon, with the snow dissipating late Thursday morning or early Thursday afternoon from north-to-south. 

The other story will be the wind, with 30-40 mph gusts through the day Thursday. So it'll be blustery for the nationalwestern Stock Show Parade Thursday afternoon in downtown Denver, be sure to bundle on up.
