The threat to our freedom of speech has never been more imminent.
 
Between draconian forces operating in Silicon Valley, meddling government ministers and highly politicised regulators, the reality is that our fundamental human rights are being stripped away every day.
 
On 6 April 2020, my channel London Real was livestreaming an interview with David Icke, which was banned and deleted by YouTube and subsequently drew the ire of Ofcom as they branded the interview “in breach [of their] broadcast standards”.
 
As one of our previous guests on the show, Ice T famously said, “Freedom of speech… just watch what you say”.
 
Despite this censure and being banned by social media companies and our governments, we decided to fight back, setting up our own independent broadcasting solution that enabled us to broadcast our next livestream to over 1 million people… and ignore Ofcom’s attempts to silence us.
 
Our latest award-winning documentary, “We Will Not Be Silenced”, exposes the exact details of the global censorship apparatus, shining a light on how an independent broadcaster with a small team and limited capital managed to pull off one of the largest livestreams in history, challenging the autocracy of governments, regulators and the Silicon Valley elite, whilst maintaining our editorial standards.
 
And although the documentary serves as a cautionary tale about online censorship, it also catalogues how an independent content creator can stand up to these schoolyard bullies, and win.
 
As I say in the documentary:
 
We will not be silenced.

We will not be censored.
 
We will not be stopped.
