🚨 Memphis-Shelby County Schools Board Update 🚨

Big discussions are happening regarding Superintendent Dr. Marie Feagins. Here’s the latest:

💡 Resolution on Notice:
The school board is considering a resolution requiring Dr. Feagins to address key areas, including:
•	Stronger internal controls
•	Communication improvements
•	Human capital analysis

Starting in February, Feagins would need to provide monthly updates on her progress to the board and the public.

💬 The Debate:
•	Commissioner Amber Huett-Garcia proposed the resolution as a substitute for a termination resolution, stating she wants to “change the dialogue” and improve collaboration.
•	Commissioner Michelle McKissack shared her support, citing unity among teachers’ unions to keep Feagins.
•	Commissioner Natalie McKinney expressed concerns about Feagins’ leadership, pointing to “a lack of transparency, strategic vision, and collaboration.”
