🌟 Alumnae Spotlight 🌟

We’re excited to highlight Katie Seward (Lantz), class of 2015! Katie concentrated in Psychology and called Winthrop House home during her time at Harvard. Along with being a standout on the softball field, Katie was deeply involved in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Women in Business.

Now thriving in her career in Kitchen & Bath Design, Katie reflects on the lasting impact of Harvard Softball. She shares: “my time on HSB was transformative! HSB taught me how to be a good teammate and how to create a strong team culture. In almost every professional performance review to date, I’ve received feedback on my ability to spearhead and shape a highly positive and collaborative team culture. I attribute this to my experience on HSB! Personally, I gained best friends for life from my HSB teammates. I got married in 2022 and all of my bridesmaids were HSB teammates. My younger sister, Meagan Lantz (‘19), also played HSB and I am so grateful we are able to have the shared experience of HSB.”

Katie’s favorite memories include playing in the Regional Final at the University of Washington in 2012, staying at teammates’ houses during spring break trips to California, golf (IYKYK), dining hall dinners, and her senior year trip to Puerto Vallarta!

Her advice to upcoming and current players is to “spend time with your teammates– whether it’s team dining hall dinners after practice, grabbing Berry Line or JP Licks as a study break, or just hanging out, time with teammates is precious! Also, try not to ruminate on the slumps, errors, strikeouts, etc.– these are not the things you will remember!”

Katie’s story is a beautiful reminder of the friendships, lessons, and memories that Harvard Softball creates!
