This is what the worlds best strength coaches text back when I ask them: “what are some of the best ways to stay strong during the season?” 🔽 Turns out isometrics are where its at. Top 5 Isometric Exercises for Full-Body Strength and Stability 👇 Wall Sit (Quads, Glutes, Hamstrings) Protocol: 3 sets of 30-60 seconds Benefits: Engages the lower body, especially the quads and glutes, without knee stress. Builds endurance and helps protect knee tendons. Form Tip: Sit with thighs parallel to the floor, back flat against the wall, and knees at a 90-degree angle. Static Lunge Hold (Glutes, Hamstrings, Calves) Protocol: 3 sets of 30 seconds per leg Benefits: Strengthens single-leg stability, targeting glutes and hamstrings for balance and joint health. Form Tip: Keep your torso upright, with your back knee just above the ground. Focus on pressing through the front foot to activate the glutes. Push-Up Hold at Mid-Position (Chest, Shoulders, Triceps) Protocol: 3 sets of 20-40 seconds Benefits: Builds upper body stability and endurance, working chest, shoulders, and triceps without shoulder stress. Form Tip: Hold with elbows at a 90-degree angle, core tight, and focus on staying steady in the mid-push-up position. Pull-Up Hold at Top Position (Back, Biceps) Protocol: 3 sets of 15-30 seconds Benefits: Develops back, biceps, and grip strength, crucial for upper body stability. Form Tip: Keep your chin above the bar, shoulders engaged, and avoid swinging. Squeeze the back muscles and stay steady. Side Plank (Obliques, Core, Shoulders) Protocol: 3 sets of 30-45 seconds per side Benefits: Targets the obliques and stabilizes the core, improving lateral stability and shoulder endurance. Form Tip: Keep your body in a straight line from head to heels, with your shoulder stacked directly over your elbow and hips lifted. Best Practice Protocol for Isometrics Rest: 30-60 seconds between sets. Duration: Hold each position for 15-60 seconds, adjusting based on your experience and endurance. Frequency: 2-3 times per week, allowing time for recovery between sessions. #Isometrics #StrengthTraining #NFLTraining #AthleteLife #ExerciseScience #InSeasonTraining #TendonHealth #TrainSmart #WorkoutTips #AthleteMindset #PerformanceOptimization
