Ever since I was little, I’ve had a curiosity about God. In my freshman year of high school, my curiosity got the best of me and I started looking for answers. Eventually, I picked up my Bible and started in Genesis. I was lost on how to start a faith journey, but I really wanted to try.

Once I was old enough to drive, I started going to a church with some friends. I could tell that church didn’t fully align with what I believed, but I LOVED the worship so I continued to show up. It’s funny how we never know what we have until it’s gone, though, because once I went to college, I felt lost again.

So, I decided to go on another journey. This time, I took myself on a tour of churches. I tried a Catholic church, the home church I went to infrequently growing up, a few other denominations, and then I found one that struck a chord: Hope.

It is clear God was working in my life. What teenager drives around trying new churches each weekend? God was stirring in my heart, and I’m so grateful for that.

I started attending Hope on weekends, sneaking in and out of services (walking in with my head down, ignoring every staff person trying to greet me, and sitting in the tippy top of the Worship Center), but within the next year, I got invited to REVIVE (Hope’s ministry for young adults). It was in REVIVE that I started to get into a rhythm of worship, community, and growth in my relationship with God.

From there, the rest is history. After joining the REVIVE ministry, I joined Hope’s staff (now I’m the person greeting on Sunday mornings—haha!) and I took Alpha, where I felt like I truly met God for the first time. I’ve met all of my best friends at Hope, and I’ve been blessed by God’s adventure of being Hope’s social media coordinator.

God has been writing my story for over 10 years now, and I’m loving each adventure he takes me on. My nudge for you is to follow him. Take the class you’ve been wanting to take, come to worship every weekend, volunteer, and connect with that community. God has an abundance of love and kindness for you. All you have to do is say yes.
