the best gift for this daddy’s girl to silence the world and its noise… beyond grateful that this is how I started my new year: in the arms of my dad while releasing gut wrenching wails over the undeniable turmoil that was certain to ensue this/my homeland. my heart bursting from the pressure of the implications we succumbed to embark on together. geographical distance doesn’t dismiss the depth of this trust… this bond of divine understanding and safety I have in him, my dad, my confidant, my friend. knowing many don’t have a clear reference for this still I attempt to put words to the gratitude that overflows for the man God blessed me with to call my kin.
