The JV-B girls basketball team lost to Lake Travis last Friday by a final score of 38-15. According to freshman Meredith Traganos, the players on the team were determined to run their plays effectively. Each team member also thought of three personal goals for themselves before the game.

“We all thought of three personal goals for ourselves,” Traganos said. “The main goals were to run our new offensive plays, our press and [our] press breakers.”

According to Traganos, the team’s goal of running its plays was successful due to the players’ communication.

“We ran our plays better this time, and we communicated way more as a team and with the coaches.” 

Although she believes the team did a good job running plays in reaching its goals, Traganos believes that the team still has room to improve.

“We definitely need to work on better passes as well as shot accuracy,” Traganos said “We also need to improve on fast break layups.”

As the team nears the end of its season, the JV-B players are determined to improve their play and to make lasting memories.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to just have fun with my teammates and getting better at rebounds and shooting,” Traganos said. “My goals are to score every game and be aggressive to get rebounds.”

The JV-B team plays the first game of a Taco Shack tripleheader on Friday when the Anderson Trojans visit campus. The JV-B tipoff is at 5:15 p.m. JV-A plays at 6:30 p.m.; varsity at 8 p.m.
