For Ariana Salazar Lozano ’27, this summer has been transformative. She has worked as a volunteer at Heartland Hospice, directly caring for patients and learning the healthcare system’s inner workings. She traces her interest in this specific tract of healthcare to her first-year seminar. In true Oberlin fashion, she has grand goals: “In the long term, I hope to open a charitable healthcare facility for individuals who cannot access healthcare due to their economic status,” she said. “This dream stems from my desire to make a meaningful impact in the community by addressing healthcare disparities.” She discusses the impact of Oberlin and her summer spent volunteering at the link in our bio. #linkinbio
