For studio art major Kay Patrolia ’25, studying business at Oberlin supplemented their goals in new, enriching ways.

“I find studying business incredibly helpful to my future planning,” they said. “So much of artistic professional practice is approaching yourself and your art as a business, so setting short-term and long-term goals and building a strong network is super important.” 

They discuss why they chose Oberlin—the people here. Not only were they able to join a community that made them feel at home, but they were able to build connections with artists working professionally.
