Koby Mbonu ’25 is an economics major with a concentration in business. He spent his summer as an Enterprise Risk Management intern at TIAA at their headquarters in New York City.

One of his main projects involved analyzing the impact on investment portfolio by Nuveen, which is an asset management subsidiary of TIAA. Koby put all the key metrics, impact, and sector for over 80 companies from the 2023 general account into a spreadsheet. His work clearly impacts the company — it allows for a better visual representation of TIAA/Nuveen's investments and to track how well they are doing.

"This opportunity I was given helped me narrow down what I want to focus on in my career," Koby reflects on his internship.
