Hello! こんにちは！My name is Mika (she/her) and I am a visiting lecturer of Japanese language at Oberlin College. I'm one of the Shansi house residents. Living in this house is absolutely stunning experience. I'm so thankful for such warm supports by our community members including, Gavin, Ted, Jessica, and Rohini. I've been enjoying cooking, eating meals together, and speaking in Japanese, Chinese, and English with my housemates. The environment where I'm in is multicultural and I absolutely love it! This is my second time taking over the shansi Instagram and this time, I'm going to show you a little bit of my life and share with you my favorite things in Oberlin. The explanations of the pictures are the below:

Yesterday, we went to the pummkin patch and did pumpkin carvings at night. I also love seeing the autumn colors while running or walking.

Over the fall break, I learned how to cook Chinese dumplings from Qiao who is a Chinese visiting instructor. It was so tasty!

Today, I went to the activity to carve Chinese poems on the erasers. Lots of carvings activities this week, haha. Thanks to Qiao again. 谢谢! I liked the ancient book shelf that stocks all history books of each Chinese dynasty.

To be continued...😊
