Human rights activist Ishmael Beah ’04 is the New York Times best-selling author of A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier, which recounts his experience as a 13-year-old forced to fight in the Sierra Leonean government army. Today, he travels the world as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and has written two novels.
